Big Boy Beds Are Overrated!

I am rethinking our decision to move the boys out of their cribs! I mean really, is it that dangerous if they are riding the rail like it's a wild horse? Or climbing in and out at their leisure? At least we didn't have to supervise the "party" when they slept in cribs.

Oh, and sleep. That is the other thing. I can assure you there would be none of it if we didn't go in to supervise. You would not think a party for two could get that amped that quick. I think these two could bring the whole house down. At least "the pillow" is the real party pooper here!

Momma or Dadda give them 3 tries to get it right otherwise we have to break out "the pillow." One of us enters the room armed only with a pillow. The boys immediately begin to cry, "no pillow!!" They know that the party is over. The fun must end and apparently the pillow is the enforcer. Momma or Dadda assume a stern and watchful position (laying down with our pillows) on the rather uncomfortable rug. Thank goodness Momma had the good sense to put carpet pad under the rug. The boys slowly and reluctantly surrender.

At least this has been the case for the last 2 nights and 2 naps. :) I sure hope this doesn't keep up til they are 10! And so I say, big boy beds are overrated. Cribs rock!!

E I E I O

So it has been awhile! And therefore we are trying a new course of action - mom's point of view, not the boys. :)
Obviously we have done some growing since the last post. Toddler tantrums are still in full force but we balance them out with singing and talking now. Most words are nonsense but they are great with bye, hi, thank you, mom, dad, love, all done and still going strong with uh-oh and football. They do repeat a ton and of course I say lots of goofy stuff. :)
For Cole, everything is a phone. And I must make funny expressions when I am on the phone because he sure does. Trent is more interested in the train we got from Noah. He loves to sit on that thing backwards or more alarming, stand on it.
The boys are into and especially on top of everything. It is unreal to me. They crawl on chairs, couches, window ledges, ottomans, tubs of clothes, trains, each other. And they fight over me. It isn't as bad when Kevin is around because Trent is content to hang with dad but during the day if one wants to be held the other does too.
We seem to have finally mastered the one nap a day except today naturally. Apparently they do not need a nap today. I suppose I will go on typing in hopes that they will be asleep by the time I finish!
Trent's favorite songs are Old McDonald and the Wheels on the Bus. He says, EIEIO.
Cole's favorite songs include Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and the ABCs. He can hum the melodies.
It blows me away how smart they are. I mean clearly they have some serious thoughts behind all their whining and pointing. They understand so much more than they can communicate which is obviously frusterating to them. I started singing Wheels on the Bus a couple months ago and Trent went and got the book. Impressive!!
Well, I am going to try harder to post updates!!

Football is the new uh-oh

FOOTBALL! It is becoming our new uh-oh. Mom and dad think we are so smart because we can pick the football out of the toy box when they ask. Really we just do it to see their reaction. Dad is crazy about football and gets the most excited about it. Mom seems a little frusterated that one of our first words was football. Better than $#!t or worse though right?!

So we have this new thing were we wait to poop until mom puts us in our beds for nap time. It works like a charm. She puts us in the crib and then we take turns. This buys us at least an hour of non sleep time because naturally we aren't going to sleep in dirty diapers. So mom comes in and changes us. We don't understand why she still thinks we need two naps a day. So we are a little cranky and accident prone when we don't sleep. So we don't sleep longer than an hour if we skip a nap. Really? Does that mean we need two naps? We think not!!

Mom and dad took us to see Santa. We had so much fun. Santa looked really cool from far away but when he tried to put us on his lap that seemed like a bit too much. Mom and dad just watched too. Not cool! Santa did give us some super soft puppy toys though. He asked us to leave him some mandarin oranges on Christmas night. We will see about that. That is one of our favorite fruits. We also got to eat all sorts of yummy breakfast things, run around, and play with other kids. Mom never lets us do that!! It was so great.

Can't wait for Christmas. Got to run. Literally. :)

T is for Twin, Together, & Trouble.

Sorry it has been so long. Actually, it wouldn't have been quite this long but instead of dictating Big C tried typing and the entire post was diminished to - zzzzzzzzzzz.
We have been recuperating from the Thanksgiving holiday at our grandma's house and getting our 15 month shots. We had so much fun being the stars of the show at grandma's house and tormenting her 2 cats! The turkey was awesome but the presents were better. For some reason we got to rip tiny shreds of paper off of boxes only to reveal extremely noisy entertaining toys. Everyone paid close attention to our every move as we opened our gifts and they made ridiculous goofy faces and gestures as they attempted to get the perfect picture of us opening the boxes. Awesome!
Upon our return home, mom carted us off to the doctor for our 15 month check up. We got 4 shots each. Talk about a quick way to spoil the fun of Thanksgiving. We appreciate mom wanting us healthy but seriously people, that is a bit much. Well, we got mom back - the rest of the week we had loads of toddler tantrums and all out crabbies. We spent a lot of time playing with the DVD player and the blinds which always gets mom going! By the weekend mom seemed a bit frazzled so we have let up on her this week. Though we must admit all those tantrums have helped us hit new high pitches when we squeal. We are pretty sure we will be able to break glass one of these days with our squeals!
We have taken to repeating, or at least attempting to repeat everything our mom and dad say. You wouldn't believe the crazy things that come out of their mouths but we like to try it anyway. Big T is outstanding at the EIEIOs and Thank Yous while Big C still prefers Uh-Oh. We have gotten pretty good at the walking and are having loads of fun with all the new stuff we can reach/destroy in our house.
Well we are off to discover new trouble.

Welcome

As this is our first time in the blogosphere and for that matter our first time on a computer we just wanted to welcome you.

We are the dynamic Devine Duo. We are 14, almost 15 months old and we like to party! Our interests include Baby Einstein videos (even if they aren't making us smarter), shoving food in our mom's mouth, running around in a diaper and playing football with dad. Book time and bath time have to be the best part of the day. Naps suck. The laundry basket is by far our favorite toy. It just has endless possibilities.

We don't get out much but when we do, we are the life of the party. Come on, red headed twins - you know you would do baby talk to us if you saw us in a store! We are new to the walking thing and have the bruises to prove it. It is tough stuff people - balancing on 2 legs! I mean, we just mastered the roll over and crawl a few months ago.

Check back for updates on our activities and new discoveries.
